Bullet Point Animation for Teaching

Teachers often find it helpful to bring bullet points in one at a time while teaching a topic. One of the easiest and yet most effective additional techniques to use during an instructional PowerPoint is provide a visual cue as to which bullet is the current focus. This is accomplished by "fading" the previous bullet point(s) so that only the current point is clearly visible.

It is an easy effect to accomplish:
  1. Animate the bullet points as desired
  2. (Windows) Click the dropdown arrow for the bullet point animation in the Custom Animation/Animation Pane on the right > Choose Effect Options
  3. (Mac) Click the bullet point animation in the Animation list > Click the "Effect Options" button
  4. Change “Don’t Dim” to a less pronounced color. The item is identified as "After Animation".

That’s it! Run the show and try it out!
